Which are the best high street shops to purchase digital cameras?
alittlehappiness asked:
I am purchasing a new digital camera in the very near future and am currently browsing the internet et cetera to assist my decision-making. Can anyone reccomend any excellent high street shops which sell digital cameras? Thanks.

I bought mine from a private business.
I don’t usually go for chain shops like Currys etc.

Argos is good and reasonably priced, I find shop’s like Curry’s etc over price such product’s !!
If you want a good price and know what you want then Argos is as good as anywhere.
Jessops are good as they really know their stuff. Online would be much cheaper though.. I just got a new one, picked their brains in Jessops then went home and ordered online saving me over 100 quid!
Jessops are good, very helpful too.
Jessops, they are helpful, know their stuff and stock excellent cameras at all prices.
(No, I don’t work for them!)
If you know exactly what you want, then you should be able to get a good price from anywhere - they ALL do ‘deals.’ Currey’s, Dixons, Argos - they are all pretty good.
However, knowing exactly what I wanted, I bought an 8M Pracktika with a Zeiss lens last night on TV for £60! It isn’t always the pixels that are important - it is also the lens!
Do you want a compact or do you want an SLR? I would doubt that you would get a decent SLR for under £500 - but have a word with Dixons and see what they suggest!
Once you know what you want - then you can look around for the best price. If you need information, you are probably better off going to a little shop with good staff - you don’t have to buy - but you will get your information there.
Good luck!
my suggestion
go to yahoo shopping

the guide should answer your questions
Hi. As with a few others, Jessops is your best bet. Try looking at their website first.
Good luck……….
ps. Try to leave Argos and Currys out. If you must go to a big one, Comet is your best.
If you know the model you want and if its a DSLR then try
Internet beating prices, but well off the high street and ‘office’ type opening hours. The boys (and girls) know their stuff and are hard to beat on price.
They do have store locations and an internet ordering facility.
try canons refurbished website some great savings and fully warranted
