What’s the difference between these Canon cameras?
Roast Chicken asked:
Canon eos 450D and 50D
I want to get the 450D but the difference in price has me wondering if the 50D takes much much better pictures than the 450D. Is the quality of the pics miles apart?

This should help you out, i don’t know much about camera language.
As you scroll down, you might see Cannon EOS 50D so check that box and click compare and you should see the comparison.
450D is 400D’s more than 50D, or there’s exactly 9 times more D’s in 450D.
Humor aside - if you’re asking this question, you don’t need 50D. It’s a professional grade camera that has more convenience and speed features a seasoned journalist or a paparazzi will appreciate. Like more control buttons instead of going to menus, and faster framerates. As far as taking good pictures - technically you will probably not see much of a difference. Artistically it’s all in your hands, the camera itself does not matter much here.
So go for 450D without a doubt. Then use the saved money to get better lens(es). Because the optics is your real investment for a long term. Camera bodies get obsolete in a few years due to technology advances, but once you get a newer body, your lenses will go to it. And the quality of lens is really what will make your pictures pop. There is a significant difference in quality when using better glass, but really negligible difference when using a better body. So don’t settle for aftermarket lens makers like Sigma or Tamron, get good Canon glass, and you’ll be the winner quality-wise.
LEM.
This side by side comparison should answer your question
Go to a good camera store and try these out. Ask lots of questions. Hold them in your hands and see which is the best for you.
