What brand Digital Cameras support different brand SD cards?
drivemy asked:
I’m shopping for a digital camera and want a brand that will accept all different brand SD cards. For example I don’t wnat to be committed to buying a SONY SD card for my camera
What cameras support all brand SD cards?
Five points for best answer!

Canon, Kodak, Nikon, (some) Fuji,
If a camera takes SD cards then it will take SD cards.
An SD card made by Sony will work like any other…
That I know of, Sony do not make SD cards though. Sony, like Fujifilm, make their own type of memory card. Sony’s is called the Sony Memory Stick. Fujifilm’s is called the XD Card. They are incompatible with each other as well as SD and Compact Flash cards.
If you want a camera that takes SD cards then buy pretty much any cheap camera not made by Fuji or Sony. Almost all more expensive cameras tend to take CF (Compact Flash) Cards.
My preference for compact cameras is Canon. Nikon are good too.
Just ask in the shop to make sure that it does take SD cards.
SD and SDHC are the more popular flash memory standards and any camera regardless of brand, will suport any manufacturers card as long as both the camera and card have matching SD or SDHC logos. SDHC cameras are also compatible with SD, but SD only cameras will not support SDHC cards.
The other formats used in cameras are compact flash, xD, memory stick; most professional type cameras use Compact FLash, Olympus and Fuji cameras use xD, and Sony cameras use memory stick.
I know that Kodak does for sure. I have a Kodak and a SD card and I love it.
And…… its 10 points for best answer LOL
