I have a great (big) old Sony digital camera that takes floppy’s and not memory cards but the best thing is there is no delay when taking pics. I have bought numberous new cameras, including Sony Cybershot and get driven mad as my 2yr old runs off before picture is taken. Do any new cameras have no delay? Why does it do this when my previous didn’t?
I have found a lot of older lenses for canon mounts in storage. My father was big into photography, there must be 15 lenses in every shape and size. These are atleast ten years old or more. Does anyone know if you can use “analog” lenses with current digital canon cameras?
Is there pro’s cons to using them?

And well I hear that “Fuji” came up with a way to synchronize several cameras via WiFi and take a picture with all the cameras at once. But it was just a study
The question is if there is some other program or gadget that can link you cameras to do such miraculous task?

I really have two questions. One is about how digital cameras actually capture images and create image files. The other is about how cameras end up taking rectangular pictures. I mean, if you look at cameras. the lenses are circular, so how do they end up taking rectangular pictures, and why? Why are movies and photos always square, rather than circular?
I’ll need to download pics of items I want to sell to my computer, then upload them to e-bay. Would the inexpensive digital cameras do the job?

You see heirloom photos in albums and frames that had a variety of custom sizes, mostly smaller. Standard today is 4×6. How can digital cameras or software take the same types of images with the same size range?

Currently most digital cameras with video recording do so at VGA resolution, which is 640×480. HD resolution is 1280×720 or 1920×1080.
Uhm101, I’ll agree that while they don’t do everything well… they give you the flexibility to take both video and still images. For some people this convenience is great especially when traveling and you don’t want to carry lots of equipment around. Just look at a Canon A720 camera. It takes good photos… and gives you okay videos when you want.
